SKILLS FOR LIFE

Skills for Life is Bearings’ drop-in after school program. Open four days a week, kids learn how to build and fix bikes, earning points for each hour they “work”. Points can be used to “purchase” a bike from our ever-changing stock of refurbished bikes. Because of the generosity of our donors, we are able to offer the Skills for Life program at no cost to participants’ families.

Skills for Life is a drop-in program. Unless parents or guardians designate that they will transport their children, students are permitted to come and go on their own.

Enrollment is ongoing, so if your family is read to get started, stop by during program hours, call 404-484-4180, or drop us an email. You can also download and fill out the Enrollment Form at the link below if you’d like to do so in advance!

YOUTH MOUNTAIN BIKING

The Bearings Bike Works competitive youth cycling program aims to give kids skill-building experience through mountain biking. Our co-ed team serves students from middle and high schools throughout the city and is open to all riding levels. Through rider development clinics, practices, and competitive races, this program focuses on personal growth and achievement. Bearings works to remove all barriers to participation for a kid who wants to ride. Meaning, we can provide the bike, gear, transportation and race day support to any student that needs it, so that kids are free to experience the best the sport has to offer and have the time of their lives on the trails.
